About Me..

Artist.

Amanda is from a small town in Southern Wisconsin. She grew up with a passion to draw and paint. When Amanda was ten years old her dream was to become an elementary art teacher and in the summers she would write and illustrate her own children's books. This was her dream until she started using metal to express herself. Art was always her favorite subject. You could say it still is...

Maker.

Making things with her hands has always been something that Amanda has been drawn to. Her hands are always busy fidgeting with something. Amanda loves to build things and has been extremely into mechanical pieces with moving parts.

Jeweler.

Amanda is an experienced metalsmith and instructor living in Layton, Utah. After graduation with a bachelor’s degree in Jewelry and Metalsmithing from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2013, Amanda has been working in the field learning and sharing her passion for metalsmithing with others. Her professional history includes designing and constructing a metalsmithing studio at a summer camp in Maine. She managed the studio, developed the curriculum and taught there for 5 years. Amanda taught with Art Works for All, a program that brings art to children and adults with disabilities, and a wide variety of beginner and advanced metalsmithing classes at Heidi Lowe Gallery. She also maintains her own metalsmithing practice and makes functional metal objects as well as jewelry inspired by geometric shapes, made out of sterling silver, copper, enamel work, and various stones. Amanda makes limited production jewelry lines, as well as one of a kind pieces upon request. Amanda currently has a studio at The Monarch in Ogden, Utah—open by appointment. Classes are available!
