The Dandelions

Adolescence is a fleeting moment, a moment that holds all the joy and impatience of childhood.  This body of work represents moments from my childhood that are held in my memory.  The dandelion form symbolizes an object that is seen as a weed but to child a thing of beauty.  The traditional metalworking processes and forms I explore represent symbols of strength and resilience much like my growth as an individual.  The etched glass surfaces capture the memories, growth, and fragility from my childhood.   Through form, color, and texture I explore memories and fears that surrounded my fleeting adolescence.
